FAQS
DOES SHANE CUTHBERT'S CHANGE THE WORLD FOUNDATION HAVE ANY POLITICAL OR RELIGIOUS AFFILIATIONS We have no membership or affiliation to any political party or religion. WHERE DOES SHANE CUTHBERT'S CHANGE THE WORLD FOUNDATION WORK Shane Cuthbert's Change the World Foundation manages and implements programs that assist adults and children in 18 countries around the world, including Australia. We are currently establishing local projects in Cairns, Australia. More information about our Shane Cuthbert's Change the World Foundation projects can be found by clicking on the 'projects' tab at the very top of this page. HOW DO WE DETERMINE A PROJECT IS EFFECTIVE To ensure we are assisting men, women and children in the best possible way and investing funds where they are most needed, our programs are continually monitored and evaluated to measure their impact and effectiveness. We do this through financial and project reporting, regular monitoring visits, program reflections and formal evaluations. DO WE WORK WITH OTHER ORGANISATIONS OR PARTNERSHIPS Whenever we start a project or campaign, we consider what other organisations are doing and how our work will complement existing initiatives. We work in partnerships with other organisations when a collaborative approach will increase our effectiveness. ARE THERE PROGRAMS IN AUSTRALIA a full list of programs is available by clicking on the 'programs' tab at the top of this page. Although we currently do not have any active programs in Australia, we are working with Local, State and Federal leaders, members of the community and local professionals on developing programs in Australia. DO OUR CORPORATE STAFF RECIEVE BONUSES Shane Cuthbert's Change the World Foundation does not provide bonuses for staff above the salaries set by industry standards. All staff salaries, including that of the CEO and our Executive Directors, are set using industry standards. ARE OUR BOARD MEMBERS PAID No. Our Board members generously donate their time and experience at the highest level of the organisation's governance to help change the world at home and overseas. We do however offer to cover economy fare travel and accommodation costs related to the attendance of Board members at Board meetings. However, not all Board members take up this offer and instead cover their own travel and accommodation costs. HOW DO WE MINIMISE FRAUD AND CORRUPTION Shane Cuthbert's Change the World Foundation has a zero tolerance approach to fraud and corruption, to ensure that we can continue our important work to improve the lives of vulnerable children and their families. To safeguard against fraud and corruption we apply strict financial controls in all our dealings with partner organisations. ARE MY DONATIONS TAX DEDUCTABLE All donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible. HOW DO WE KNOW THAT DONATIONS REACH OVERSEAS PROJECTS All projects in overseas countries supported by Australian funds are implemented through our partners such as B1G1, and rigorously monitored by our staff here in Australia.
Our monitoring systems ensure we know where and how our aid is being used, we undertake on-the-ground evaluations to ensure aid money is being spent effectively and to ensure plans are put in place to invest it well in the future.
We have strict processes for selecting local partners to ensure that they have the skills to deliver the project and are not aligned with violent groups. We also have strict internal controls on how our money is managed in-country, to ensure we can be completely accountable to our donors including the Australian Government. WHY IS SHANE CUTHBERT'S CHANGE THE WORLD FOUNDATION HOSTED ON SHANE CUTHBERT'S SITE As a not for profit we try to maintain the lowest costs possible so that we can make more of an impact with the funding and donations we recieve. Shane Cuthbert has been generous enough to donate the web space to us for FREE. As a new charity and one started by Shane Cuthbert, it is also one of the main ways that people hear about us, Shane is extremely passionate about the charity and talks about it regularly promoting it on social media, seminars and interviews, so it just makes total sense for us to be located here. WHERE ARE WE LOCATED Again, we are lucky enough to have been given access to spare office rooms in a building owned by Shane Cuthbert, as we grow, we will need to find much larger premises but to help us get off the ground and avoid as many costs as possible we have been lucky enough to have been donated this space.
Shane Cuthbert’s Change the World Foundation is a registered charity under the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission
