division eight candidates CAIRNS COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2024

Cairns Regional Council Election 2024 The Cairns Regional Council Election will take place in 2024 and Shane Cuthbert is well placed, as a politically active member of the Cairns community to comment on the many Cairns Divisional candidates and Mayor position up for grabs. Shane Cuthbert has attended MOST Cairns Regional Council General Meetings, Cairns Regional Council Planning and Environment Meetings and shares various networks with current and aspiring Cairns Councillors.
Division Eight Councillor Rhonda Coghlan (Sports) Division Eight Councillor Rhonda Coghlan is a fantastic advocate for the local community of Gordonvale and its surrounds. Cairns Councillor Rhonda Coghlan is the most passionate about local community sporting organisations, always happy to advocate on thier behalf and support grants and funding for sports around Cairns. Divison 8 Councillor Rhonda Coghlan represents the areas of Barron, Caravonica, Holloways Beach, Machans Beach, Smithfield, Yorkeys Knob, and Trinity Park. Rhonda Coghlan will be tough to beat as she announces that she will form part of the Cairns Unity team.
Phillip Musumeci (Community first) Phillip is a long term Division 8 Caravonica resident who grew up on a farm in Mirriwinni. He attended local schools and now works as a systems design engineer. He is married to Annett and has one son. He loves cycling, swimming, and raising funds for the Cardiac Challenge.
If elected to Division 8, his main focus will be on sound planning to deal with the issues of inappropriate development on our coastal fringes. He is a strong advocate for social housing, better town design and improved public transport. He is looking forward to engaging with the Division 8 community to find out more about the pressing issues of concern to local residents.
Jo Piggott (Team Eden) Jo Piggott grew up in a multicultural environment and owns a business. Jo says "I’m not just warm and fuzzy; I’m also a go-getter". Jo Piggott's leadership style comes with a diverse skill set, encompassing strong communication, business acumen, and a knack for community building, Jo Piggott is approachable and easy to talk to, always striving to listen and understand to ensure everyone feels valued and heard. Jo Piggott's commitment to Cairns is unwavering, she is dedicated to transparency, accountability, and the overall happiness of my community.
