The Cairns Unity team has been criticised for dodgy deals, taking cash from developers, corruption and conflicts of interest. The former Mayor Bob Manning was found guilty of corruption and failing to declare conflicts of interest matters relating to developments supported by new Mayor Terry James, Brett Moller and other Unity members.
Recently, the Cairns Unity team was criticised for attempting to appoint their mate Jeremy Neal to an otherwise elected position however, the appointment was blocked by independent Councillors who discovered Jeremy Neal had been depositing funds into the joint Unity team bank account benefiting all Unity members and forced Unity team Councillor Max O'Halloran to 'begrudgingly declare a conflict of interest, bring the December 21st meeting to a complete stand still.
This is still the same Unity team requesting your vote on March 16.
